LAND is one of the research labs from the Anatomy Department of the Biomedical Sciences Institute from São Paulo University (USP). Its main goal is to investigate the neuroanatomic aspects of the physiopathology of pain on different behavioral models. Analyse the potential role of non-pharmacological therapies as alternative to conventional treatments. In addition, the lab also observes the possible changes in glia cells, cytokines, nitric oxide and a large range of inflammatory mediators, correlating it to nociceptive behavioral models after acute lesion and/or chronic lesion of the gastrocnemius muscle and sciatic nerve.
